College was inaugurated by Dr. Partha Chatterjee, Hon'ble Education Minister, Govt. of West Bengal, on 6th May, 2017. It is approved by NCTE, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India and affiliated to WBUTTEPA (The West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration) for B.Ed. and WBBPE (West Bengal Board of Primary Education) for D.El.Ed.National College of Education aims to instill the urge to be creative and innovative, inspiring the students fraternity to strive for excellence in pedagogy. Set in a modern 65 cottahs campus, the college has state-of-the-art labs, huge library with more than 7000 books, and all the modern amenities required to develop a proper teaching skill set. It is a composite college that offers Bachelor of Education degree, required to become a teacher at the secondary and higher secondary level, and Diploma in Elementary Education degree required to become a teacher at the primary level. Being a part of the National English School Group is a huge advantage as the students will have easy access to proper classroom teaching experience. The college has also tied up with 20 other schools for providing the students with the opportunity to fulfill the required number of classroom teaching sessions.
